Monqi Jungle may not install or open for several reasons:
- Google Family Link is enabled.
- Monqi lost connection to the internet.
- Installation from Unknown Sources is turned off.
If you suspect any of these reasons, please try our simple solutions below.
If you cannot resolve the issue using this page, please visit monqi.co to live chat with our 24/7 agents!
Google Family Link is enabled
First, go to the Monqi phone and unlock it.
- Open the Family Link app and tap on the menu bars, then select Remove Account.
- On the next screen, select Remove Account again.
- Choose your Gmail account as the person that will be removing Family Link from your child’s device.
- To authorize the removal of the app you’ll need to enter the password for your Gmail account.
- You’ll see a message telling you the account has been removed. Exit the app.
- Uninstall the app by long-pressing on the Family Link and dragging to Uninstall on the bottom of the screen.
You may need to restart the device to see the full effects.
Try launching Monqi Jungle again or wait a few minutes if you were installing.
Monqi lost connection
Sometimes our smart devices can lose connection to the internet. A solution that frequently works is to turn WiFi off and on again. You can access the WiFi settings by tapping the menu bar, then Settings, and finally selecting WiFi. Turn off WiFi and wait for it to fully shut off. Enable it again. Now try launching Monqi Jungle or wait a few minutes if you were installing.
If resetting WiFi does not help, please restart the device by pressing and holding the lock button until the Android power menu appears. Select restart and then try launching Monqi Jungle again or wait a few minutes if you were installing.
Any other connectivity issue is likely related to your internet service provider or cellular provider. If you suspect the phone's hardware is faulty, we recommend contacting the manufacturer of the device for a replacement and emailing support@monqi.co for more assistance.
Enabling unknown sources
Sometimes a phone's permissions can be cleared through a reset, security update, or activation of a Google account. Jungle is our own custom app and it does not appear on the traditional Play Store. If the permissions are changed, your phone may think Jungle comes from an Unknown Source.
First, we grant full settings for one hour.
Now, we will enable installation from Unknown Sources on the Monqi phone.
- Open the menu on the Monqi phone.
- Select System Settings (different than "Settings").
- Scroll down and select Apps & Notifications.
The setting name may be different for your version of Android. - Select Advanced, then Special App Access.
- Scroll to the bottom and select Install Unknown Sources.
- Select Monqi Jungle and toggle allow from this source.
- Tap back.
- Select Monqi and toggle allow from this source.
- Return to the home screen by pressing home.
Try launching Monqi Jungle again or wait a few minutes if you were installing.
